Potbelly Pig Shelters and Sanctuaries

The total net earned income of NPPR will be distributed among all participating Shelters and Sanctuaries in the form of an Annual Grant. The number of approved Temporary Registration applications submitted by each shelter or sanctuary during a calendar year determines the amount of each grant. The grants are calculated as follows: A percentage will be assigned to the approved Temporary Registration applications submitted by a given shelter and/or sanctuary. This percentage is in relationship to the total applications of all shelters and sanctuaries during the same calendar year. The total net income of NPPR will then be divided according to the assigned percentage of each shelter and sanctuary. NPPR will mail a check directly to each shelter or sanctuary for its calculated percentage of the net profit at the end of each calendar year.

Temporary Registration of Previously Unregistered Potbellied Pig
National Potbellied Pig Registry accepts application for registration of previously unregistered Potbellied Pigs. Any person, shelter, sanctuary or institution that cares for a potbellied pig can make this application for registration. Each Unregistered Potbellied Pig’s photo, size and age will be examined for conformational standards prior to a permanent registration paper being issued by NPPR. If the pig is not approved for registration, 50% of your processing fee will be refunded.

To obtain a NPPR Temporary Registration Application Form, all previously Unregistered Potbellied Pigs are required to be neutered/spay prior to registration. (Exceptions are a female potbellied pig over the age of 5 years, or female that is deemed a surgical risk by a licensed veterinarian). This neuter/spay, height, length and weight must be verified in writing by a licensed Veterinarian.

National Potbellied Pig Registry Permanently Registers all pigs that have obtained a NPPR Temporary Registration Application Form. This registration certifies that the pet potbellied pig meets are the size and weight standards of a pure-bred potbellied pig.

Transfer of Potbellied Pig Ownership
Should a pig registered with the National Potbellied Pig Registry owner change by means of sell, trade, or gift, a Transfer of Ownership Form is to be submitted to NPPR by the new owner. Upon receipt of this Transfer Form, NPPR will reissue Registration Papers to the New Owner of the Potbellied Pig.
